The record label Joyful Noise Recordings announces the launch of a special box of cassettes of the missing and charismatic singer -songwriter Daniel Johnston. It will be published in October of this year.
Joyful Noise Recordings will launch the October 31, 2025 The cassettes box “Daniel Johnston in the 20th Century“, a special boxset that will gather up to sixteen tapes with Daniel Johnston’s first -time material, all remastered by Kramer. It will be a limited and numbered edition of nine hundred and ninety -nine copies, including the tapes, a wooden box serigraph with art based on the drawings of Johnston himself, a script with notes on the material signed by Marc Masters And an exclusive toy also based on the singer -songwriter’s visual universe and created by the specialized brand Clutter.
The collection collects home recordings that Johnston began to distribute in the eighty years and that marked the beginning of his career. Joyful noisE highlights the importance of these tapes for the dissemination of their music and supports the project “Hi, how are you “, an organization dedicated to mental health inspired by the life and work of Johnston.
