In July, Peat He had already shared his first solo single, “Still I Love Him,” a cover of the traditional love song of the same name. He has now confirmed that the song will be part of his debut album, which will be released on November 13 via Rough Trade Records.

“The Moon and Stars” rewrites parts of a traditional folk lyric. Peat explained that the song includes references to unwanted pregnancies and abortions, including mentions of rue, a herb used to cause abortions, with the intention of representing those experiences from the woman’s perspective.

Peat describes the album as a way to connect with centuries of other people’s experiences transmitted through songs from previous generations. According to him, the idea for the album has been on his mind for about fifteen years, ever since he saw a documentary at the age of twenty about how Mike Oldfield recorded “Tubular Bells” playing all the parts himself, a method that caught his attention. Peat She explained that the songs on the album are mainly about the struggle, suffering and resistance of women, although there are also themes of love.

To present the album, Peat will be performing in cities such as London, Dublin and Paris. As for the album’s tracklist, it will include the following songs:
