Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Violeta… nominated for Latin Grammys

Rosalía is once again among the stars of the Latin Grammys. The Catalan has 8 nominations for ‘LUX’, which appears in categories such as album of the year, pop, alternative and music in Portuguese. CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler and Karol G get 7 nominations, while Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte stay at 6.

The most nominated of this edition is, yes, and to no one’s surprise, the Mexican composer and producer Edgar Barrera, with 10 nominations. Barrera is nominated for his work for artists such as Karol G or Carín León.

Regarding the Spanish representation, there are a few exciting nominations. Violeta Hódar, former Operación Triunfo 2023 contestant, receives her first nomination thanks to BRONQUIO’s remix of ‘ojala’. In addition, Yerai Cortés appears in best flamenco album for ‘POPULAR’ and Bad Gyal wins several urban nominations. Leiva and Mago de Oz -and Alejandro Sanz, of course- are other of the nominated Spaniards.

There is also a Spanish presence in more technical and visual categories, such as ‘Anela’ by Belén Aguilera, which is up for best recording design, although the nominees in this case would be its art directors, María Blaya Miralles (BLAYA) and Maria Elvira García Pérez.

Among the curiosities, one of Rosalía’s many nominations comes for ‘LUX (Complete Works)’, the deluxe edition of ‘LUX’, in best alternative music album, despite her presence in the main categories. He hasn’t scratched any in Christian music, mind you. In that same category we also find Teo Planell with ‘Demian’.

The Latin Grammys will be presented on November 12 in Las Vegas, in a gala that can be seen in the United States through the TelevisaUnivision platforms.
