Fernando Alfaro, “Like a Virgin”

Today, Saturday, September 12, Café La Palma will welcome one of Fernando Alfaro’s famous acoustics, as part of Vibra Mahou’s Madrid Stages series. Tickets are on sale.

Through the acoustics of the legendary Spanish singer-songwriter of the 90s, they have always played his solo songs, such as ‘Camisa hawaiana de Fuerza’, and also always classics by Chucho such as the masterful ‘Magic’, or by Surfin’ Bichos, such as ‘Fuerte’.

The news is that lately versions have also flourished not only by their own handwriting, but also by other artists. This is how he told it in La Tribuna de Albacete: “There are also surprise versions, because I usually change my repertoire a lot in each concert or tour: I have so many songs already…”.

Although we have been asked not to reveal the songs that Alfaro usually covers live, we can advance that they may be pop classics as foreign to the artist’s imagery of violent and funereal figures as ‘Like a Virgin’ by Madonna, whose author died just this year. Something that we would not have guessed in a million years and that they show him, effectively, in “virgin territories” for him. His pen was always much more cloudy…
