In recent days, accusations of abuse towards Yves Tumor have appeared on social media. The comments have continued on Reddit and X, in response to which the singer Kidä has decided to speak publicly.
It was in X where he wanted to tell his experience: «After the recent accusations against Yves Tumor, I want to share my own experience. I’ve known Shanti for years and sang on ‘Lovely Sewer’ on her last album. What followed was one of the most disrespectful professional experiences of my career.
I had to pay for my travel and accommodation during the tour. The entire time, he was on a drug-fueled bender that never stopped—once going 5 days without sleep. He emotionally abused his girlfriend, who was also on the tour. He tried tirelessly to sleep with me.
He berated, mocked, and provoked his bandmates constantly. Everyone around him walked on eggshells. “He took it out on roadies, Uber drivers, hotel receptionists—anyone unfortunate enough to be near him.”
She adds in another post: “I would also like to add that as a female artist who is already disadvantaged in this industry, speaking about this is very risky and damning. But I will not be intimidated into being complicit or enabling harmful behavior that could result in more women getting hurt. I am speaking about this in light of recent allegations that he sexually assaulted women. “I don’t hope to gain anything from this other than spreading the truth so that, ideally, we can make room for a better future where women are treated with respect at the very least.”
JENESAISPOP has contacted Yves Tumor’s representation agency in Spain to find out their version.
In the last decade, Yves Tumor has become a cult singer thanks to the release of works such as ‘Heaven to a Tortured Mind’. He has recently made a considerable leap in popularity by appearing at the end of Rosalía’s ‘Berghain’, playing the role of a toxic character or intrusive thought, as opposed to Björk, who plays God. “I’ll fuck you until you love me” is his only phrase in this song that, with almost 200 million streams, has become by far his most listened to song on Spotify.
With the recent allegations against Yves Tumor, I want to share my own experience.
