Pablo Alborán has shown his indignation at the new agreement of the Andalusian Government with the Andalusian dioceses, which will allocate 1.85 million euros per year from the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) to finance religious assistance in public hospitals for the next four years.
The Malaga singer shared the news on Instagram and has asked that this money be invested in public health. «I can’t believe it. Invest in more doctors and in better conditions for those who already exist. Stop making fun of citizens who defend public health and health workers. They laugh at them! “Enough is enough,” he wrote.
The agreement has also been criticized by Andalucía Laica and the White Tides Coordinator of Andalusia, who consider it unacceptable that SAS funds are allocated to a confessional service while public health continues to face personnel and financing problems. The agreement will have an initial duration of four years, extendable for another four, and will involve an expense of more than 7.8 million euros if the planned period is completed.
