A Kanye producer denounces non-payments for AI voices

The use of artificial intelligence in ‘Vultures 2’ and ‘Bully’ has been the subject of speculation among Kanye West fans for months. A new lawsuit against Ye now puts figures to these suspicions: a producer claims that he created 13 voice models with AI and more than 400 vocal generations for the album, but that he never got paid for that work.

According to the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles and reported by Rolling Stone, the producer was called just two days before the release of ‘Vultures 2’. In that short period of time he would have carried out intense vocal production work using artificial intelligence: he claims to have created 13 voice models with AI, generated more than 400 vocal takes and provided material recorded with his own voice. He claims that his work ended up appearing on five songs on the album.

The producer also maintains that he continued to collaborate with Ye on ‘Bully’ from October 2024, developing new vocal productions with AI and participating in the composition of two songs that ended up being published.

The lawsuit also claims that Yeezy initially acknowledged his contributions and even promised to update the credits on streaming platforms, in addition to later offering him a purchase of his rights. However, the plaintiff claims that he never collected or received the promised recognition.

The producer is claiming at least $110,000 for his work on seven published songs. It is the latest lawsuit against Ye, whose recent career has been marked by controversies, but also by the success of his tour, which recently passed through Spain.
