This Friday the White House, with its usual insensitivity during Trump’s second term, shared a video on TikTok in which the United States carries out a bombing. The text that accompanies the post says “Iran has been warned”, and the music selected is ‘Firework’, the Katy Perry classic, specifically when it says “Boom, boom, boom.”
Katy Perry has decided to respond this Saturday from X: «I am deeply outraged and angry to see that ‘Firework’ has been used on the White House TikTok account as a background track for video images of military attacks. “I have not approved this, they have not asked my permission, and I certainly do not tolerate it.”
He continues: “I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing and inner strength for people going through very dark personal times. To see a message of self-esteem and upliftment transformed into a soundtrack for destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song represents. “My music is to bring people together, not to celebrate war.”
Katy Perry has been in the news lately for going viral ‘The One That Got Away’. In fact, he has released a compilation called ‘The Ones That Got the Plays’ that has just climbed to the top 9 of the British charts, a new high after 11 weeks.
Located in 13th place on Spotify’s Global Artist List, Katy Perry is in one of the most popular moments of her career, despite the lack of acceptance of her latest albums and singles.
