Ya está en la calle el número de julio y agosto de Mondo Sonoro

The July and August issue of Mondo Sonoro is now on the streets

Today, Thursday, we began the distribution of the copies corresponding to the July and August issues of the magazine. And we do it with the powerful emergence of the duo Rat on our cover.

Dani Sabater and Félix Esteban could dedicate themselves to anything else but their friendship would continue to be what truly defines them. They have chosen, however, to channel their bond by becoming RATthe most groundbreaking and strident duet that the state scene has given us this year. With “I NEVER WANT TO DIE” (Sony, 26) sign a letter of introduction with both heart and bad grapes.

The self-titled debut of Placebo turns thirty years old and the band celebrates it with “Placebo RE:CREATED” (AWAL/Popstock!, 26), a respectful rereading of that homonymous premiere. The group led by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal will perform in our country next October, performing songs from “Placebo” (96) and “Without You I’m Nothing” (98).

Strength lies in exaltation, many will tell you. In becoming big, in being noticed. We associate it with violence because the world teaches us to use it to impose ourselves. But what happens when strength lies in caring? In raising a family or in crying? Tanxugueiras exalt in “O Fourth” (Self-published, 26) the strength of those who did what was necessary and more so that the world around them could function: women.

Almost two decades of musical career between his time as a soloist, rising to the top of The War on Drugs and his parallel journey with The Violators, the American Kurt Vile come back with “Philadelphia’s been good to me” (Verve/Universal, 26), an ode not only to the city of a lifetime, but also to the stories lived there and to the friends who are like brothers.

We spoke again with Carlangas on the occasion of the publication of “Parallel Universe” (Caries/ Virgin, 26), an album that marks a new stage in his career. A work in which the Galician recognizes that he is experiencing a personal and creative turning point. And in which he claims, above all, the importance of finding one’s own voice.

Electronica, kraut rock and futuristic psychedelia come together in Cervatanathe new project by Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba members Miguelito García and José Ugía, who explore other soundscapes with their good friend Fran El Punky (Kelia, PuertoHurraco). The result is “Cervatana” (Politic Bear, 26).

Aurora and Tom Rowlands (The Chemical Brothers) make up Tomoraone of the most unexpected duos of today. And at the same time, as clearly demonstrated “Come Closer” (Fontana/Universal, 26), also one of the most interesting.

The people of Valladolid Siloam publish “Emotional Terrorism” (La Niebla Records, 26), a work that comes at the best moment of his career. We talk about the album and a decade marked by reconstructions, self-management and craft, in a conversation in which they reclaim their city and preview a completely renewed live performance.

Taylor Momsen, from the pretty Recklesstalks about his new job, “Dear God” (Fearless/Music As Usual, 26), like someone who opens a door that has been closed for years and does so with a kind of serene realization: there are things that, sooner or later, find a way out.

And that’s it for our most extensive interviews, although you can also find other content from bands like Belle & Sebastian, Querido, Kasabian, Carmen 113, Das Ich or FatBoy Slim. That’s without counting our usual sections dedicated to reviews of albums, series, movies, podcasts, books or comics. Oh!, and as always, here we leave you the renewed playlist with the contents of the month, to provide a soundtrack to your reading. See you in September!
