Peter Gabriel share the latest preview of “I heard”his next album. It is “I Belong to the Sky (Bright Side Mix)”, meaning that we will soon hear the “dark side mix”.
“I Belong to the Sky” was released coinciding with last night’s blood moon, following the lunar cycles that Gabriel has accustomed us to for some time now. Written and produced by the artist himself, the mix in this case is signed by Mark “Spike” Stent.
“I Belong to the Sky” is. According to the artist himself, one of those songs that he had been thinking about for a long time until there was finally a moment when the circumstances arose to finish it. In fact. He comments that the topic was already one of his favorites when he started working on it at the time of “i/o” (23).
Gabriel also points out that, to begin to shape it, he was inspired by the soundtrack of the documentary called “Jazz on a Summer’s Day” (59), filmed during the 1958 Newport festival, specifically in the performance of percussionist Chico Hamilton.
Obviously, to hear the “dark side” mix we will have to wait until the next moon, but for now you can continue listening to previews like “Put The Bucket Down”, “Been Undone”, “A Hard Lesson”, “Won’t Stand Down”, “Till Your Mind Is Shining” or “What Lies Ahead”, in both mixes.
