September 18 is the day that ‘Day and Night’, Carly Rae Jepsen’s new double album that we learned about a few days ago, will arrive. We knew that the album would be divided into 2 parts, as its name suggests, and now Interscope gives many more details about this album. Although it is a cliché, they claim that it is “his broadest artistic statement to date”, as well as “a deeper and more intimate look at his inner world.”
The album has 24 tracks like 24 hours in a day and they say it “captures a blurry, dreamlike feeling of time where nights stretch into mornings and days dissolve into nights, creating the sensation of being suspended within a moment.”
The first preview, which belongs to the “Day” stage, speaks of the “impatient desire that arises in the early stages of courtship” and also hovers “between friendship and romance.” For its part, the video also wanted to talk about a dichotomy, between motherhood and career. As you can see, Caio Viera (KATSEYE) photographed her in her sixth month of pregnancy.
‘On Wires’ is a beautiful epic mid-tempo, in the style of the first Harry Styles and Feist, marked by a completely 70’s piano. It was already said a few days ago that this decade will especially mark the “Day” part, in this case with shallow touches of glam, prog and some jazz.
The lyrics return to its main theme (“I want us to be more than friends this week”), although adding a certain social context (“the whole world is on fire even if we don’t realize it”).
Carly Rae Jepsen will perform ‘Day and Night’ with a headlining performance at New York’s All Things Go Festival on Sunday, September 27. It will be their first live performance of 2026.
