SOAK returns with “Death Valley Fridge Magnet”

The Northern Irish artist SOAK returns after four years of solo silence with the release of “Death Valley Fridge Magnet”, a new single released through Rough Trade Records.

The song is the first proper material from Bridie Monds-Watson since the publication of “If I Never Know You Like This Again” in 2022, and comes after its successful collaboration with Fred again.. in “Just Stand There”, a song that accumulated millions of views.

“Death Valley Fridge Magnet” was born in a time of personal and professional uncertainty, during which the artist went through vocal problems that made her wonder if her musical career was coming to an end. But in this process of search and reflection, SOAK was able to once again find the capabilities that have defined it since its beginnings: intimate and detailed writing with contained melodies and a vocal performance full of sensitivity. The introspectiveness of the song also runs through the video clip, directed by Charlotte Langelwhich presents the artist in all her simplicity.

This return also coincides with intense live activity. Over the next few months, SOAK will offer a tour of Ireland, a sold-out concert in London and will participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Rough Trade with Pulp at the Royal Festival Hall. Later he will travel to the United States to accompany The Barr Brothers in a new concert series.
