Angèle releases tension in the wonderful and wild ‘Dis-le’

The Belgian Angèle, one of the most popular pop singers of recent times from Europe, continues to release new music. If a few months ago I released a collaboration with Justice, ‘What You Want’, which was also remixed by Fcukers and SG Lewis, since this week we are still on the dance floor.

‘Dis-le’, our Song of the Day today, is a banger that from its very video is set in clubs and raves, with such a wild character that Angèle has decided to place it in nature, with some reference to Excalibur.

Angèle explained in her newsletter that it is a call to individual freedom: «I conceived this song as an invitation to express our inner voice, what we keep for ourselves. “It is an encouragement to break the silence, to free ourselves, to proclaim our individual identity clearly and without reservation.”

What does Angèle invite you to say in the song’s hammering verses? “Say that you feel alone, tired, that you are not well, say it louder, say that it hurts, say who hurt you, that you like queens or kings, that you are afraid of the future.”

This liberating song that invites you to “follow your instincts and live in the moment” resolves all its tension in a chamber pop coda, where the protagonist is suddenly a piano. There the atmosphere is more dreamlike while the images in the video slow down to show the definitive escape from evil.
