Homophobic insults against Carrasco and Bisbal for wearing suspenders

Manuel Carrasco has just given a concert at La Cartuja in Seville and has had the participation of David Bisbal, who appeared as a special guest to perform with him ‘The Queen of the Dance’, one of the singles that Carrasco released in 2024. However, many spectators have preferred to comment on the styling of both singers by resorting to homophobic insults, and all for wearing tight straps and some draping touch.

“How gay they are dressed”, “what image consultants Manu has”, “two very elegant ladies”, “I thought they were transvestites” or “Carrasco has one foot out of the closet” are some of the niceties that supposed followers have dedicated to them on Instagram. These are just some of the comments collected by the influencer Antonio González on that social network.

Aside from the suggestion that there is a way of dressing specifically associated with homosexual men – and that this has some negative connotation – it is worth remembering that neither Bisbal nor Carrasco are homosexuals. An example of the extent to which gender prejudices continue to operate is that homophobia also affects heterosexual people, although certain public representatives decide to ignore it.
