Carly Rae Jepsen had flooded her Instagram profile in recent days with publications of colorful and aesthetic images accompanied by writings, times and locations, almost like a personal diary. It was clear that he was plotting a comeback and now it is confirmed. However, the return will be even more satisfactory for his fans than expected, since the new album he has just announced is a double one.
‘Day and Night’ will be made up of 24 songs: the first 12 will be gathered in the “Day” section and the remaining 12 in the “Night” section. Something similar to what Miley Cyrus did in ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, although, for now, Carly Rae has not said that her album is conceptual. The release date is September 18.
According to the press release collected by Variety, the “Day” part is “organic and raw, with live instrumentation and touches of 70s-inspired psychedelic pop.” For its part, “Night” is “exploratory and intense, delving into an elegant universe of synth-driven dance pop.”
Jepsen, who has recently become a mother, has collaborated with Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert and Cole MGN (her husband) on this new project. The first ‘On Wires’ trailer is out this Friday.
