IDLES preview the single “Levitator” at their concerts

We can now hear a preview of what the British’s next work will sound like. IDLES. It is the song “Levitator”, with which they are opening all the concerts of their current festival tour.

After saying, months ago, that they were going to immerse themselves in a new stage, IDLES have shown us the first clue of what that new stage will entail and it is precisely a return to their most direct roots. Or at least that’s what seems to be glimpsed in “Levitator”, the group’s new song with which they are opening their current festival performances.

Mark Bowen, guitarist of the band, has stated that their new work will be “the most exciting of their career and that it will be a return to our origins.” In any case, “Levitator” is the group’s first material since “Tangk”2024 album, not counting the soundtrack they signed for Darren Aronofsky.

The first time this new song was played was on May 27 at the GNP Seguros Stadium in Mexico and, since then, they have introduced it in each and every one of their shows. It is now expected to officially be released in August, before the group performs in London’s Victoria Park at All Points East x Outbreak alongside Deftones, Amyl & The Sniffers and JPEGMAFIA.

As for the rest of the repertoire of their current festival tour, the group is performing songs such as “Never Fight A Man With A Perm”, “Mother”, “I’m Scum”, “Danny Nedelko”, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” or “Rottweiler”.
