What until today was our Album of the Week, ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’, is obtaining amazing sales figures. It has been number 1 in the United Kingdom with almost 103,000 copies sold in 7 days, making it a direct gold record, and better yet, it is number 1 in the United States with the equivalent of 485,000 units. It is Olivia Rodrigo’s best historical week in the USA and the best of 2026 for any solo album.
Adding the number 1s obtained in Australia, Austria, the “two Belgiums”, Holland, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden and Switzerland, it is evident that the album has already reached close to a million copies in just 7 days. The album has only reached number 2 in Norway and number 21 in Japan. In the rest of the world it is number 1, which has finally included Spain, displacing Quevedo and Bad Bunny.
Breaking down the Billboard 200 figures, the album has sold 273,000 actual copies and 211,000 points come from streaming. 1,000 are for the sale of loose tracks. There have been 15 different variants of ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’, including 2 signed and on vinyl alone 164,000 units have been sold in the United States. Without a doubt, one of the biggest hits of 2026.
And a week after its release, the entire album continues in Spotify’s Global top 100, with 5 songs still anchored in the top 25: the three singles in the top 10, plus ‘honeybee’ holding on right now in position 12 and ‘maggots for brains’ at number 24.
