Caamaño & Ameixeiras and Stuffed Cake They have worked together on “O Meu Amor”, the new single from the former and a song to the open wounds left by those who leave.
The organ of the Church of the University of Santiago de Compostela breathes from the hand of Sabela Caamanoturning grief into a habitable space in “O Meu Amor”, a song that features not only the voice of Antía Ameixeiras but also with those of Stuffed Cakein a shared polyphonic song that embraces absence, transforming it into living memory.
Starting from a traditional theme from Açores, introduced into the imagination of Galician music by Leiliathis song captures an ancient wisdom: “that of mourning what is lost without stopping to continue, understanding that in that persistence there is also a way to care, to remember, to honor. And, little by little, to live again.”
Sabela Caamaño (chromatic accordion) and Antía Ameixeiras (violin and voice) form Caamaño & Ameixeiras, a Galician duo linked to traditional music and dance. Since its birth in 2018, this duo has an intense career, both nationally and internationally.
The duo faces the launch of their next work that will follow what was their second full-length, “Remove or air”launched by Raso Estudio in 2023, and which will come from the hand of Montgrí. Anyway, until that happens, you can catch Caamaño & Ameixeiras at:
