It says a lot about Tove Lo’s enormous talent that she managed to convince Stromae to appear on a joint song, given that the elusive singer only collaborates very occasionally, despite being one of the most acclaimed European artists of his generation.
‘Des fleurs’, the collaboration of Tove Lo and Stromae, has been overshadowed by the release of Olivia Rodrigo, but, by all accounts, it is one of the notable premieres of last Friday. It is the second preview of ‘Estrus’, Tove Lo’s new album, and the result is interesting and correct, although it leaves you wanting more.
The flirtatious and flirtatious theme places Tove Lo and Stromae in a scenario of physical attraction. If Tove Lo directly mentions sharing a bed with her lover, Stromae uses the image of the “flower” as a metaphor for the body she desires. Also, as a wink, he sings in French: “I don’t want to throw flowers at each other, but I’m not the worst of lovers.”
‘Des fleurs’ is a flirtatious and flirtatious song, and the music accompanies it with a marked use of percussion, contained drama and sensual production. Where perhaps it does not stand out as much is in a chorus melody that is not as explosive as the occasion would deserve. Her use of glitches in her voice can be engaging, but ‘Des fleurs’ doesn’t quite “bloom”, as Tove Lo’s collaboration with Kylie Minogue did, which continues on an obsessive loop so many years later.
We remind you that the release date of ‘Estrus’ is September 18. The first trailer, ‘I’m your girl right?’ has recently been through our «Video clip aesthetics» section.
