The Portuguese festival Med adds new names to its concert schedule

The Portuguese Loulé Med Festival adds new names to what will be its next edition, to be celebrated over the next few years June 25 to 27 in Loulé, in the Algarve (Portugal).

With just a few days to go until its celebration, the musical programming of the Med Festival is being completed, to be held next week – specifically between June 25 and 27 – with a line-up full of interesting names coming from different parts of the planet and exploring different musical genres.

If until now a large part of international groups such as Arnaldo Antunes, Arooj Aftab, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Los Van Van, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Natacha Atlas, Fidju Kitxora, Bohemian Betyars or Groundationamong others, now new confirmations arrive that round out an already very attractive and diverse lineup.

We can start with the combative ones Asian Dub Foundation (replacing Serbian-Croatian Goran Bregović), the masters of Afro-Cuban music Orchestra Baobab or the Greek ethno-punks of Koza Mostra. But they also invite us to new proposals to discover such as the encounter between fado, jazz and Brazilian popular music that is born from the Portuguese guitar of Manuel De Oliveira and the piano Bianca Gismonti; the mix of rhythms from North Africa, Cape Verde and the Caribbean of the Algerian-Canadian trio Labess: the electro-folk of the Ukrainian Ganna; Colombian avant-garde pop Eda Diaz; the american of the british Daniel Kemish; the inventor of “forest pop”, the Brazilian Tulipa Ruiz, or the investigation of the Belarusian accordion virtuoso Yegor Zabelov.

Within the Portuguese section, the always restless guitarist To Trips accompanied this time by The Fake Latinos (it is inevitable not to remember Marc Ribot and Los Cubanos Postizos), and Sangue Suorthree drums between the experimental and the danceable.
