Jack White releases a free, “unnamed” surprise album

Jack White, better rocker than conceptual artist, returns

Jack White has put his new album up for pre-sale again without previously announcing it. Her seventh solo album, ‘Frozen Charlotte’, will go on sale on July 10, although there is no official announcement or prior campaign. White continues to move through the industry as if the Internet did not exist.

Following the line of ‘No Name’, their album from two seasons ago, ‘Frozen Charlotte’ has been dropped almost secretly, and it doesn’t come alone: a new song, ‘Dollar Bill’, has already been released, which joins the previous singles ‘GOD and the Broken Ribs’ and ‘Derecho Demonico’.

‘Dollar Bill’ is torn between a tense calm and explosions of electrical energy that burst like a short circuit, while the lyrics seem to revolve around the relationship between desire, power and money. One of his lines makes it clear: “She did it for the love / And a dollar, a dollar bill.” Musically, White delivers another competent classic rock ‘n roll song, interesting for its dynamism.

According to the description of the product itself on the label’s website, the album brings together 13 songs recorded in Nashville with the musician’s usual band – Patrick Keeler, Dominic Davis and Bobby Emmett – and promises a trademark mix of raw rock, abrasive blues and chaotic urgency.

Meanwhile, the ex-White Stripes continues with several projects in parallel: in addition to a tour that will take him through Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States, he is presenting an artistic exhibition in London. Although the criticism is not consistent: The Guardian has given it 1 star and described it as childish and “unviable.”
