Zahara begins a new artistic stage with the release of “Marimacho”, a single that works as an original song by “Pioneers. They just wanted to play”the film about the first women’s soccer team in Spain that will hit theaters on June 12.
The song also represents the conceptual and sonic start of Glitch, a new creative phase where electronics, techno and social demands occupy a central role.
The song was born after the invitation of the film team to create a song that would amplify the message of the film, directed by Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz and set in Spain in the 1970s. It was precisely a specific scene that inspired the concept of the single: the moment in which female soccer players are insulted for occupying a space historically reserved for men.
From there, Zahara transforms words historically used as attacks into tools of reappropriation and collective pride. “Marimacho” turns stigma into shared identity and is presented as an anthem directed both at women questioned for breaking norms and at gender dissidents.
The launch connects the most demanding aspect of “Bitch” with a more electronic and danceable proposal. Within this new stage, error and imperfection are understood as spaces of resistance and freedom.
In addition, the artist also performs a new version of “Soy Rebelde” for the film’s soundtrack, reinforcing the emotional and conceptual link between both songs.
“Marimacho” is already part of the repertoire of the Zaharave tour, where it has become one of the most celebrated moments even before its official publication.
