Tom Morello has released his new single “Adjourn It”, from his next album “Mom + Pop Music”.
The topic has the participation of Serj Tankian and of Romanthe 15-year-old son of Morelloand calls to resist the rising tide of fascism.
At the beginning of this year, Tom and Bruce Springsteen They traveled to Minnesota to protest the ICE raids in Minneapolis and the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. This month, in New York City, he joined the organization Hands Off to protest against ICE and its abuses in front of 26 Federal Plaza, an immigration court in Manhattan.
The song was produced by Zakk Cervini (Bring Me The Horizon, Yungblud) and written by Tom, Serj, Zakk and Roman.
Film fragments “SALT OF THE EARTH” (1954) are woven throughout the video for “Adjourn It” to reflect the theme of resistance in the face of prejudice and injustice. The film is based on a true story about Mexican-American miners fighting labor exploitation, racism and institutional oppression, and was made by three Hollywood executives blacklisted for their political beliefs. It stars real zinc miners and was one of the first truly independent films.
