The Smashing Pumpkins have shared the unreleased album on platforms “Zodeon at Crystal Hall”until now only available in the tea shop owned by Billy Corgan and his wife Chloe Mendel.
Last year, Billy Corgan released an album titled “Zodeon at Crystal Hall”. He did it in a vinyl edition and by mail through the Madame Zuzus tea shop, owned by Corgan himself with his wife, the artist and designer Chloe Mendel Corgan. Specifically through the store’s label, Martha’s Music.
Now, the leader of The Smashing Pumpkins has decided to share it with all his fans across platforms. The album includes a total of twelve songs recorded during the pandemic and that were left in the trunk of memories as soon as Corgan and his musicians dedicated themselves to more important projects.
After releasing them on vinyl last year, these twelve songs are now available to everyone, showing an aspect that Corgan has defined as “pop with influences from the sixties.” The release has been made without paying too much importance to it and without highlighting it as a new album by The Smashing Pumpkins.
On the other hand, The Smashing Pumpkins have also announced the tour “Rats in a Cage”in which each night they will offer two different sets as a tribute to thirty years of “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness”.
Unfortunately, this tour will only take place in North America, just a few weeks after Billy Corgan’s symphonic concerts with orchestra – which will pass through our country, specifically Madrid. The tour will pass through cities such as Boston, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Montreal, Chicago, Charlotte, Tampa, Indianapolis, Nashville, Austin, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Phoenix and Los Angeles, among others.
