La Térmica de Málaga will open next May 22 a new event dedicated to sound experimentation and contemporary audiovisual creation. Under the name of Krvzethe meeting will transform the space into a crossing point between music, performance, immersive installations and digital art through an international program that will bring together proposals from the United Kingdom, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Germany, Japan and Spain.
More than a conventional festival, Krvze was born as an experience of listening and collective perception where experimental electronics, sound art, audiovisual installations and new performing practices coexist. A day designed to explore how tradition, technology and contemporary creation can dialogue from the same space. The musical and audiovisual line-up will bring together everything from the emotional electronics of Cravat from Malaga to the hypnotic power of Konono N°1 or the immersive environments created by Nonotak, one of the current international references in audiovisual installation and lighting performance.
The musical programming will start with the people of Malaga Cravat in Sala 005, one of the most interesting proposals of the new local avant-garde thanks to a sound identity that connects electronic, post-rock, shoegaze and IDM. For this occasion, the duo will present a live show especially focused on its most electronic and introspective side, without giving up the emotional intensity that has made the project one of the most unique names on the national experimental scene. Next, the Patio Archivo will receive Luxean artist who combines harp, flute and strings with intricate electronic textures to build landscapes suspended between folklore, memory and sound fiction.
One of the central moments will come with Konono N°1historic explorers of hypnotic repetition and trance percussion, who return in collaboration with Montparnasse Musique to connect their traditional roots with contemporary electronic pulsations. The musical lineup is completed with the British NikNaka reference of experimental turntablism and one of the most prominent figures of the new improvisational electronics, and with the audiovisual closing of Nonotakwhich will present Shiroan immersive piece where light, sound and architecture are transformed into a sensory and dreamlike environment.
Krvze will also display a powerful selection of installations and performances distributed throughout different spaces of La Térmica. Outside, the duo formed by Daniel Hölzl and Abie Franklin will present Bycatcha series of large-format inflatable sculptures designed to be explored from the inside, altering the physical perception of space and scale. In the Left Courtyard, Roberto Rivadeneira will show Future Meaningsan audiovisual installation born from photographic documentation of plants and textures of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The artist uses this material to train artificial intelligence models that generate abstract sculptures of non-existent but disturbingly recognizable species, in a constant dialogue between nature, memory and synthetic image. Room 008 will house Axial Corefrom the artist Leo Puma monumental technological structure that oscillates between communications satellite, ballistic weapon and high-fidelity sound system. The piece transforms the machine into an immersive totem and raises a reflection on the contemporary technological body and its symbolic dimension. For its part, Irene Molina and Paco Ladrón de Guevaratogether with twerkas_ip, will present the performance Can I Pet That Dawg?!a work that questions the current dynamics of affection, care and power in a present marked by hyperconnectivity and technological dependence.
The day will also include a open meeting with members of Nonotak, Sergi Palau and other program participants, thus expanding the reflective dimension of an event that seeks to place Malaga within the new international circuits of audiovisual creation and contemporary sound experimentation.
The Krvze visual identitydesigned by Alvaro Fernandez Maldonadotakes road signage as a reference to build a graphic imaginary that symbolizes precisely that idea of cultural crossing and transit between disciplines that runs through the entire proposal, thus reinforcing the experimental nature of the meeting.
