Green Day They already have a date for the premiere of “Nimrods”the film inspired by the band’s early years and the chaotic tours they experienced before achieving massive success with “Dookie” (1994).
The feature film, co-produced by the group itself and previously known as “New Years Rev”, will hit theaters in the United States next August 14after having passed through the Toronto International Film Festival last year under its original title.
The story follows three friends who embark on a road trip convinced, by mistake, that they have managed to open the Green Day concert on New Year’s Eve. From this event, the film recovers the impulsive and youthful spirit of the group’s early years, drawing inspiration from experiences that the band itself lived before becoming one of the great names of American punk rock, such as when they spent days in their van to tour the country and play.
Directed by Lee KirkNimrods, which is also the name of one of the band’s most celebrated albums, will feature performances by Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace, Fred Armisen and Jenna Fischerin a mix of humor and nostalgia that promises to provide a moving story about the music, and history, of the group.
