Madonna, Shakira and BTS, in the World Cup final

The Soccer World Cup will be held starting June 11 in Mexico, the United States and Canada. It will end on July 19 in New Jersey and on that date a “halftime show” has been announced for the final, similar to that of the Super Bowl with three big headliners: Madonna, Shakira and BTS. The match is scheduled for that day at 9:00 p.m. in the peninsula, 8:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands.

In a video uploaded to networks, Chris Martin explains to Elmo that it will be the first time that this show is performed, for charity, in collaboration with Global Citizen. Madonna is the first suggestion, then BTS appears on the phone and Peggy the pig and Kermit the frog suggest that someone else join, which turns out to be Shakira.

BTS have just released their first album after a break during which their members have been performing military service, ‘ARIRANG’, already around 4 million copies and at the top of sales in 2026. Shakira has composed the song ‘Dai Dai’, about to be released, and will surely perform it, a couple of months before performing at the Shakira Stadium in Madrid.

As for Madonna, during the month of July she will publish the long-awaited ‘Confessions II’, which is having one of the most imaginative promos of her career, from Coachella with Sabrina Carpenter to the more than 10-minute short that will be presented at Tribeca.

A listening session of half of the album’s songs took place these days in London and another in New York. Attendees talk about an album of Chicago house and Detroit techno with passages of spoken word, highlighting the track called ‘Danceteria’. You can see the impressions of the reliable journalist and writer Lucy O’Brien (MOJO, the book ‘Like an Icon’) compiled in our Madonna forum.
