Amaia Montero has published a statement on her Instagram account in which, in addition to updating her status and addressing criticism on social networks, she has also denied that she is going to abandon the current tour with La Oreja de Van Gogh. This is a rumor that has been circulating on the Internet in recent days and that Amaia now flatly denies: “We are really back,” she says.
The vocalist of La Oreja de Van Gogh says that she has focused on resting during the last few days, after the start of the group’s tour in Barakaldo. She tells how she arrived from Bilbao and did everything except look at her cell phone: “I rested like a girl after her best birthday and when I woke up I was very happy,” she says.
Montero says that she received a call from a friend who asked her if she was going to abandon the tour: «I responded very surprised: how? He asked the question again and then a laugh came out of me, the kind that leaves you breathless, the kind that you want to answer but you can’t because you keep laughing. And when he was able to resume the conversation, I responded with a resounding NO and told him why he was asking me,” the singer explained.
Her friend probably told her about the rumors that had emerged online about a possible abandonment of the singer, together with the numerous criticisms she received for her performance: “I realized that living while safeguarding your own well-being, far from being naive, is the healthiest and most intelligent thing one can do,” says the artist. She assures that “people’s lies” are something that does not surprise her.
The statement ends by explaining how grateful she is with “that wonderful, grateful and dedicated audience” and with a lapidary phrase: “If I can take anything positive from going down to hell, it is that it makes you practically indestructible,” concludes the singer.
