Cancer Bats They will publish their eighth studio work, “Give Me Dirt”on August 7 and as a preview, the group has already shared the single “Stay Stuck.”
His next album will be published through Bat Skull Records/New Damage Records in Canada and Marshall Records in the rest of the world. About his signing for Marshall Recordsthe group comments: “From the amplifiers that helped define the sound of our favorite bands to their support of independent venues and their absolutely punk rock approach to everything they do, we feel this is the perfect home for Cancer Bats. We are looking forward to working with them on our new album and many more in the future!”
The album, successor to “Psychic Jailbreak” (22), has been recorded in the studios GodCity of Salem, Massachusetts, under the production of Kurt Ballou —known for his work with Converge, Kvelertak either Every Time I Die– next to Zach Weeks. The voices, for their part, were recorded at Camera Varda Studios, in Ontario, with Ian Romano in front. The album also features collaborations from Nate Newton, Chris Creswell and Efrem Schulz.
The album addresses themes such as the bond with nature, personal grief and the impact of environmental destruction. It is also nourished by the motorcycle routes that the vocalist Liam Cormier has done in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and in Nepal. In addition, the singer himself has designed the album cover, handcrafting a great work in mixed technique, with the intention of moving away from digital finishes and aesthetics created through artificial intelligence.
“”Stay Stuck” was a really fun song for us to write. It was one of the first songs we finished while working on the new record and we all felt like we connected with that classic, fun, bouncy element that Cancer Bats has had from the beginning,” he shares Cormier about the first preview of the album.
