Iyaman Pablo & Irie Reggae Vibes, Sotabosc and Mountain Tops are the winners of the second Rumbo a Rototom contest, who will perform on the opening day of the Rototom Sunsplash festival.
The festival Rototom Sunsplash already has the winners of the second edition of the Rumbo a Rototom contestwhich will be part of the Welcome Party of the 31st editionthe next August 16 in Benicàssim. The first winning proposal is the project Iyaman Pablo & Irie Reggae Vibesled by the Galician Pablo Cameselle, who claims the most classic essence of reggae. From Barcelona, the second winning proposal is Sotaboscwith its own sound identity in which reggae, dub and Mediterranean roots converge. Finally, Mountain Tops It is the third winning band that, from Cantabria, brings a proposal inspired by Jamaican roots and British reggae.
On the other hand, the festival will begin on August 17and will last until the 22nd of the same month, with the most varied proposals. At the head of the poster are Major Lazer –in soundsystem format–, Shenseea, Protoje, The Skatalites featuring Alpheus, Queen Omega, Dub Inc, Biga*Ranx, Kybba either Mr Vegas. Other participants are Lia Kalithe fusion project of the super band G-5with Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, El Canijo de Jerez, Diego ‘Ratón’ and Tomasito, Pure Negga, Easy Riddim Maker, Biga Ranx, Bleu Soleil, Charly Black, Bamby, Lady Leshurr, Las Ninyas del Corro, Eskorzo, Natalia Doco, Ilan Amores, Omega Nebula and many more, which will be announced soon.
With Heading to Rototom, the Exodus Foundation consolidates a platform aimed at promoting emerging talent and giving visibility to projects on the state scene linked to reggae, dancehall, ska, dub and their multiple contemporary fusions. The initiative has the collaboration of Rototom and the SGAE and reinforces the festival’s commitment to supporting musical creation and opening its programming to new voices from the national scene.
