While we continue waiting for ‘Stove’, Lana del Rey’s album that will contain the songs ‘Henry, come on’, ‘Bluebird’ and the fun ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’, the artist presents us with a separate surprise.
It is a recording called ‘First Light’ that takes us back to the times of ‘Born to Die’. And it has its reason: it is a composition shared with David Arnold, soaked in James Bond sound, for the simple reason that it will be included in a 007 video game named precisely like the song, ‘First Light’.
‘First Light’, in addition to the relevant string and wind orchestra, includes a powerful electric section.
It must be remembered that Lana had already made at least one attempt at a James Bond song. It was the recording ’24’, contained in ‘Honeymoon’. It had actually been composed for ‘Spectre’, but losing the battle against Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s on the Wall’.
How much they had to pay Lana del Rey to agree to get involved in a second project of the film after that is not written. However, it is just as true that the song does not remove its B-side flavor as it offers an expansive, forceful face of Lana, which was almost no longer remembered (and is appreciated).
