“Greyhounds, poker and farlopa”, in the irresistible nights of Bad Management

Every once in a while a band emerges in Spain that destroys all your ideas and forces you to ask yourself: Is this a joke or genius? Most of the time, it’s the latter. This is the case of Mala Gestión, a young Valencian “ñunk” band that sings about Ducados Rubio, “galgos, póker and farlopa.” ‘Casino Night’ is the Song of the Day.

For Generation Z, nothing is that serious. Mala Gestión’s music is a total reflection of this: outdated synthesized punk rock bases, crazy samples and the meme as a musical element. ‘Casino Night’ is viral for all these reasons. “Today is Tuesday, casino night / Yesterday was Monday, casino night / Every night is casino night / And today I should be taking care of my nephew,” the song begins.

Elías, Héctor, Pablo, Guille and Joan came from making anthems such as ‘Pollo al Chilindrón’ or ‘All my friends have mange’, but it was with ‘Noche de Casino’ that they have gained the attention of the industry. It must be thanks to phrases like “playing football is not knowing how to speak” or “there will always be something of your life in every farlopa chicken.” To that, and to be an irresistible banger.

Another preview of their next album, ‘Skol’, is as simple as it is addictive: “Drinking a Skol, on the way to school and I feel so cool.” ‘Diesel’, on the other hand, is one of those cases in which the band balances its more guitar-driven and organic side with a melody that doesn’t need jokes to succeed, although there are some too.

‘We do what we can’, the new album by Mala Gestión, will be available this Friday, March 20, with songs like ‘Sandalias del PSOE’ or ‘Buenos dias Vietnam’, the group’s latest singles.
