British singer La Roux has corroborated an accusation of sexual assault against Kanye West by model Jennifer Ann, who claims that West touched her without consent during the filming of the video clip for a remix of ‘In for the Kill’, in 2010.
According to Ann’s testimony, during the filming of the video clip West “strangled her and covered her mouth” and “put several fingers down her throat, continually moving them in and out,” which, according to the complaint, “simulated forced oral sex.” According to the complaint, West reportedly said: “This is art. This is fucking art. I’m like Pablo Picasso.”
In the lawsuit originally filed in 2024, Ann claimed that the scene she filmed with West “looked more like a BDSM fetish or a porn video” than a music video, and accused the record label Universal of “systematically discriminating against women by continuing to work with artists with well-documented histories of sexual harassment and discrimination,” indicating that “both the record label and other high-level figures within the industry “attempted to cover up the incident.”
La Roux witnessed the incident and attests to it in an Instagram message, screenshots of which Ann has included in court documents filed in court. In the messages, the singer states that she “could never forget what she saw, it was horrible,” and explains: “I have never seen the images (thankfully) and obviously asked that they never be used or seen as you were understandably very worried about anyone or your family seeing them.”
In 2020, La Roux said that he had witnessed behavior from Kanye that he did not like, but out of respect for the person affected, he did not go into details: “I’m not going to go into it, but I saw behavior that I found disturbing and disturbing. And that’s all I said.”
La Roux worked with Kanye on the ‘In for the Kill’ remix and also providing backing vocals on Kanye’s single ‘All of the Lights’. The singer also said that Kanye forced her to write him an apology by hand, after reading that La Roux had said in an interview that Kanye had seemed like a “strange” person to her after working with him.
