P!nk and Shakira, nominated for the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame

P!nk is among the artists nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the prestigious hall that recognizes the most influential figures in the history of rock and popular music. P!nk is nominated in her first year of eligibility, since to be eligible for the distinction 25 years must have passed since her recording debut.

Shakira, a contemporary of P!nk on the charts, also breaks through with her first nomination, although the Colombian debuted earlier.

Artists such as Mariah Carey, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis and Iron Maiden receive their third nomination at the hall, since they have not been lucky enough to enter. The same cannot be said by Phil Collins, who is already a member as part of Genesis and could now join solo.

Sade, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wu-Tang Clan are also among the nominated artists who are hard to believe are not yet part of the famous hall. They are very thoughtful decisions: Kate Bush and Cher took centuries to enter, in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Billy Idol, INXS, New Edition, Luther Vandross and Melissa Etheridge complete the list of 17 nominees. The names admitted will be revealed in April, while the famous “induction ceremony” will take place in the fall.
