The Barcelona band TIEMEI finds the perfect balance between electronic and analog in “Pare Normal”, a single with real drums and textures reminiscent of post-rock.
After “The Mourning After The Night Before”their debut album, TIEMEI They will release a new EP during the first half of 2026. “Pare Normal” is the second advance, a song that reveals new airs in the Catalan group, which manages to find an ideal place between electronics and analogue.
Starting from a sound reminiscent of the most dynamic post-rock and electronics based on pop structures, “Pare Normal” is melodic, direct, and even magnetic. The contrast between the piano, the programmed percussions and the distorted voices give it a hypnotic undertone that captivates the listener from the first listen.
In “Normal Stop”, TIEMEI They once again choose Catalan as the vehicle for their lyrics. A simple but direct lyric, which speaks of the emptiness of growing up without a father figure and making oneself without being able to hold on to that. It is represented with a minimalist musical approach that seeks to reference that emptiness, complementing soft melodies with dynamism at specific moments.
Like the band’s previous single, “Gaire Aire”, “Pare Normal” was produced, composed and performed by Betu Molero, Jan Gin and Marc Minguella; mixed and mastered by Andrés Jaén Viera.
