Tonight the first semi-final of Benidorm Fest takes place. It is the first time that the winner will not represent Spain in Eurovision, but RTVE is doing its best to attract the audience, and among the guest artists that we will see throughout the week are Luz Casal, Fangoria and all the winners of the contest so far.
Miranda! They are the group with the most listens to their candidate song, although in recent days Kenneth has grown a lot. This is precisely one of the artists that the press liked the most after the first rehearsals.
Reviews of the essays have been very mixed. Eurovision Spain speaks of “shows with a notable technical display and a clean and minimalist visual that is difficult to see on Spanish television with moments on par with European television productions such as the Swedish Melodifestivalen, the Finnish UMK or even Eurovision itself.” He considers that “RTVE demonstrates television muscle and a firm commitment to music with the fifth edition of the Benidorm Fest.”
On the contrary, Six Magazine has issued a Reels in which they complain that the first semifinal, at least, has not been as “spectacular” as promised, with the exception of Kenneth. It also seems that the duo formed by Dora and Marlon Collins will surprise, despite not starting among the favorites.
We will finish finding the answers tonight. It will be, however, at dawn, from 11:00 p.m. until after 1 in the morning, something that has caused deep disappointment in our Benidorm Fest forum. RTVE has responded that this is the usual prime-time schedule for La 1. Benidorm Fest is broadcast today, Tuesday after ‘La Revuelta’, and on Thursday, after a soccer match. The Grand Final will be at a decent time, at 10:00 p.m. this Saturday.
