The Primitives, celebration in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona

British indie pop band The Primitives They will celebrate with their Spanish fans what is now forty years of career with three unique concerts in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. And it will be this week.

The Primitives gave their first concert on November 14, 1985, so it was just a few weeks ago that the group celebrated its forty years of experience. From that concert at The Hope & Anchor to today, the path has gone through different stages, but there are songs like “Thru The Flowers”, “Crash” and “Spacehead” to underline their weight in the flourishing British indie pop scene of the eighties. The Primitives provided a vision that was inspired by the female bands of the sixties from a perspective that combined jangle pop and punk.

Elefant has been celebrating this anniversary with the band since November, with the release of a seven-inch single in a limited edition of 500 copies on white vinyl with two songs: a new mix of the ‘Thru The Flowers’ demo with added overdubs and guitars, and the unreleased original version of their first song, “Sweet Sister Sorrow”.

On this fortieth anniversary tour, the band will review their career, which is currently being revalued with the reissue of “Spin-O-Rama”the recent publication of “Let’s Go Round Again • Second Wave Singles & Rarities 2011-2025” (which compiles a large part of the collection of hits that the band has published during the second stage of its career) and the album “40th Anniversary Single”.

The group will be performing in Madrid (February 12, Sala El Sol), Valencia (February 13, 16 Tons) and Barcelona (February 14, Sala Wolf). Visit the venues’ websites to get tickets.
