Flamenco On Fire celebrates its twelfth edition

The Navarro Festival Flamenco on Fire It will return to Iruña-Pamplona, Tudela and Viana from August 22 to 31 with almost forty performances.

The twelfth edition of the festival will be held from August 22 to 31 with 13 scenarios and 35-37 performances, distributed between “large concerts”, “night cycles”, “urban spaces” and own productions. The Festival begins an ambitious trienal project that will travel the history of flamenco from 1830 to the 1925 singing coffees, with this first installment under the concept of “Tandal”, a word that evokes the traditional courtyards where this art was orally transmitted, and which connects with the Navarra territorial identity through the wink to the sport of the Basque ball in its poster honor edition.

Among the outstanding proposals of the festival are “Alzapúa III”own production dedicated to the flamenco guitar that brings together figures such as Manolo Franco, Gerardo Núñez, Rafael Riqueni and José Antonio Rodrígueztogether with guests like Antonio Canales, Montse Cortés and Pepe Habichuela. The company’s concerts also shine Antonio Najarrothe avant -garde female vocal trio “Reset” (LELLA SOTO, Ángeles Toledano and María Earthquake), and the closure with Tomatitopresenting your show “A path” with advances from his next album. In addition, the festival pays tribute to the journalist Navarra Loretxo Iñarrearecently deceased, with a posthumous honorary award, consolidating its commitment to memory, aesthetic diversity and the cultural closeness of flamenco.

Nor will other artists be missing such as Pepe Habichuela, José Valencia, Lelo Soto, Ángeles Toledano, María Terremoto, Duquende, Queralt Lahoz, Yerai Cortés, Rocío Márquez next to Bronchus (presenting the show “Third Sky”) or The planets (With his show “A story of the flamenco planet”)
