Six workers have ended up in the hospital after suffering an accident while dismantling the stage of the concert that Ed Sheeran gave on Saturday in Detroit. The incident took place at night, when the team was working at Ford Field after the singer’s last concert in the city.
According to reports, a forklift lost control in a vehicle access area of the stadium and hit several workers. Those affected were going to take a break when the accident occurred, which mobilized the emergency services around 11:00 p.m.
The six were transferred to different hospitals. Two were initially in serious condition and four others remained stable, although none suffered life-threatening injuries. One of the workers had to spend the night hospitalized.
Ford Field has announced that it is reviewing what happened and that it will collaborate with both the authorities and those responsible for production. The stadium, for now, has avoided speculating about the causes of the accident while the investigation continues.
