In the middle of the pride weekend, Metrika was forced to cancel her performance at the Burgos Sampedros parties after a part of the public dedicated homophobic insults, threw ice on stage and wishes death to one of her dancers.
This Monday afternoon, according to data from the convening collective, around 500 people took to the streets of Burgos to condemn and protest what happened during the Metrika concert in the midst of pride celebrations. The organization of the demonstration has also added data on the incident, citing “threats, shoves and confrontations between the public.”
“Several people were affected by violence and so far no effective intervention has been known or by security or by the municipal organization of the event,” they denounce. PP and Vox, who govern in the City of Burgos, have not issued any statement at the moment. Thus, the calls have created their own manifesto.
«We cannot normalize that an artist comes to our city and leaves fear. We are not going to tolerate Burgos becoming an insecure space for those who disagree, for those who love or exist outside the norm, ”they have sentenced.
The events happened last Saturday night during the Burgos Patron Festivities. “I do not give me anything of anger that four Nazis failed 15 years have thrown me, but I am very sorry for the ugly comments that have made one of my dancers,” said singer Metrika after the concert.
Marcda, in a video uploaded to Instagram, explained in tears that “as soon as you start the show we started throwing things, calling me fag, son of a bitch and sucking, already wishing my death for no reason”: “I have simply come to share my art and to demonstrate that I am a valid person, and what I receive without any meaning is this,” the dancer denounced.
These aggressions, with a clearly transbian intention, made the show stop twice before definitively canceled: «It is no longer even in the street, it is a scenario, which I have come to work and not do anything else. I simply ask love and respect, I don’t ask for more, ”said the dancer.
The PP and Vox spokesmen of the Burgos City Council have condemned the facts and ensure that, despite the police presence of the enclosure, they did not know what was happening.
