Promusicae has published its annual reports on the best-selling and most listened to in Spain during 2025. In the coming days we will break down the data provided.
For now we are left with a very striking fact: in the face of the machismo prevailing in Spotify Spain playlists, when it is not about streaming, but about selling vinyl, women rule.
Promusicae highlights several data: in the list of best-selling vinyl in 2025, 35% are women, well above what happens in the streaming world. Additionally, of the 19 international artists who make it to the top 100 on this list, 13 are women.
It should also be noted that the 4 best-selling vinyl records in the country during 2025 were made by women. Rosalía is the top 1, obviously, with ‘LUX’. The new Taylor Swift is at number 2. But the surprise is that Aitana appears in position 3 and Amaia in position 4 above, for example, the new one from Viva Sweden, which is true that it came out in the last quarter of the year. It helps, of course, that Bad Bunny has not released vinyl of ‘I should have taken more photos’. In the top 5 we find Extremoduro, reinforced after the death of Robe, but be careful, with 85 weeks of permanence on this list with ‘The Innate Law’. That is, it came from before.
Speaking of Extremoduro, we must highlight the large number of old vinyls that appear on the list. Carolina Durante and Arde Bogotá are in the top 10 with albums from previous years, and Billie Eilish almost managed to sneak in too (she was in the top 14). Without going any further, Los Planetas are in the top 17 of vinyls on the annual list with ‘A week in the engine of a bus’. They have sold more of the reissue than Guitarricadelafuente of the new ‘Spanish Leather’. Several albums by Los Planetas, Extremoduro and Taylor Swift appear in the annual top 100.
Some notable albums from 2025 that appear in the top 100 are ‘Mayhem’ by Lady Gaga (11), ‘Recardelino’ by Juanjo Bona (32), ‘Jesucrista Superstar’ by Rigoberta Bandini (59), ‘Lento ternura’ by Zahara (73) or ‘Anela’ by Belén Aguilera (96).
