145 women denounce punctures with syringes at a France Festival

Around a dozen women and teenage girls have been hospitalized in France after being punctured with syringes during a festival. In total, 145 people denounced having received punctures during the event.

The events occurred last Saturday at the Fiesta de la Música Festival. From the beginning, the authorities reported an “unprecedented assistance.” There are no specific numbers, but it is estimated that around one million people attend the festival throughout the day.

Most of the victims were girls between 14 and 20 years old. Of these, 17 were transferred to the nearest hospital for a toxicology test. At the moment, the authorities have not confirmed that the syringes had disabling drugs.

According to The Guardian, the investigations began after three people denounced similar incidents in Paris, in separate cases. 12 suspects have been arrested for now and it is speculated that four of them would have punctured 50 people each.

In addition to these attacks, around another 370 people were arrested during the course of the festival, with 14 assistants seriously injured by different altercations with a white weapon.
