Billboard Women in Music, the gala that celebrates the work of women in music, has celebrated a new gala this Saturday, March 30. Laverne Cox has presented the ceremony, which has deployed its carpet on the YouTube Theater of Hollywood Park, Inglewood, in California.
The protagonist of the night has been Doechii, who has collected the prize for a woman of the year (in other editions delivered to Madonna, Lana del Rey or Taylor Swift) and has offered a speech claiming the “need” to celebrate an event of this type.
Other winners at the Billboard Women in Music have been Aespa (Group of the Year), Erykah Badu (icon), Gracie Abrams (composer of the year), Jennie (Global Force), Meghan Trainor (Hitmaker of the year) or Muni Long (ascent star).
Some of the award -winning artists have acted, to highlight Erykah Badu, who has sung ‘Appletrese’ dressed in a curious outfit. Aespa, Ángela Aguilar, Gracie Abrams, Megan Moroney, Muni Long and Tyla have also taken the stage of the YouTube Theater. Among the guests, Kali Uchis, Becky G, Tina Knowles or Heidi Montag.
