The new duo formed by Iñaki Gereñu (Peachy Joke) and Lander Zalakain (Belako) presents us with the second advance single from his debut album “23,556”.
We exclusively premiere the single and video clip for “Jakin Nahi Nuke” by GĒREthe new project by Iñaki Gereñu (Peachy Joke) and Lander Zalakain (Belako), a duo that combines Basque melancholy with cinematic electronic pulse. He presents us with a piece of nocturnal electronica built on filtered bass, analog synthesizers and precise production, with echoes of the French Touch and cinematic aesthetics (which transport you to films like Drive, Blade Runner, Stranger Things or Tron).
The song alternates between Basque and Spanish, generating a natural contrast between the intimate and the direct. The participation of Kiliki It provides character and tension, reinforcing the dialogue between the human and the mechanical that runs through the entire production.
The debut album of GĒRE, “23,556”will be released in spring and will be composed of 10 songs and various collaborations. It was recorded at Montreal Studios (Subiza) and produced by Iñaki Gereñu and Hans Krügerwith an absolute obsession with atmosphere and detail: analog and digital synthesizers, vocoders, talkbox, tape delays and deep drums that dialogue with spectral harmonies.
Live, GĒRE takes shape with Lander on drums – energy and precision – and a powerful staging: light boxes, smoke, lasers and a play of shadows that turns each song into a small sequence shot.
They state that “GĒRE does not look at the 80s: it reinterprets them to talk about the present. Loves that weigh, cities that cry, the desire to escape and the desire to stay.”
