Turonstile perfected their hardcore and pop mixture in ‘I Care’

Turonstile are at the sweetest moment of his career. After the success of ‘Never Enough’, our album of the week, they are officially the most important hardcore band in the world. Ironically, they have achieved it softening their style to blur the line between hard rock and pop. ‘I Care’ gets it without sacrificing the energy that characterizes them. It is the song of the day.

The Smiths Riffs Riffs, the bass mccartney bass and electronic textures of LCD Soundsystem resonate throughout the song, being ‘I Care’ the most purely pop piece that Turnsile has ever made. The chorus, in which Brendan Yates questions if they want to “break the heart in two”, is the only part of the theme that connects with the heavy chords of the hardcore, even briefly.

Through a friendly and lively sound, ‘I Care’ talks about giving everything for a person at the expense of neglecting oneself, which is not very healthy, but romantic: “I am happy to sink into repentance / Even if it is only to lose myself in it / all because you know that I care,” Yates sings. ‘I Care’ is the perfect song to reap new fans, so it is not surprising to choose her for her performance at Jimmy Fallon.
