In 2025 Operation Triunfo returns, but what do the 2023 contestants bring in 2025? Of some we have already known discs as recommended as the debuts of Juanjo Bona or Violeta. Paul Thin, the prince of the edition, has launched two ambitious projects in a period of three months. Martin’s promises for his collaboration with Hidrogenesse, although he will not leave until next year. Urrutia has recently debuted on television with her role in ‘Mariliendre’. His edition partner, Bea Fernández, has helped him sing the songs of the soundtrack.
Lucas Curotto has recently been news for having been seen working in a bar in Madrid, a sign that he is not holding his musical career. In fact, he communicated on social networks that Universal had fired him. At least he has been able to publish an album, ‘Air Bridge’. You may not have heard to talk about him, nor of Salma, ‘cowardly blood’ (which entered the 14th position of the Spanish sales list), or that of Omar Samba, ‘nostalgia on paper’. Alex Márquez, now Alez, also took a colorful pop EP in 2024, like its cover, ‘vibrates’.
Others have been more fortunate: the long debuts of Chiara Oliver and Ruslana have registered glowing entries in the Spanish album list, although their fall of the same has been equally as fast, a logical result of mobilizing the record stores to a fandom but not the general public. But what kind of music are all by launching this year?
Bea Fernández launched the single ‘I want more’ last April, dominated by acoustic guitars. Ruslana has just released ‘dark circles’, a very worthy theme that sounds to the 2000 pop-rock in his melancholic facet. Convince less ‘you take away from me’ (the dark circles?) From Naiara, a “bachata baturra” that tries to stick very strong but does not get it. The choni aesthetics of his project, at least, identifies it (his tour is called ‘i ❤️ Spain’), although he squeezed the seventeenth -party ‘party in the center’, a dull recreation of the sound ‘manioc’. His collaborations with Abraham Mateo (‘You have to know’) and Natos and Waor (‘Veneno’) were better.

To get in ‘Loop’ has been the single of Chiara Oliver that has presented the reissue of its debut. Pop-Punk guitars feel equally good as Ruslana. More surprising has been the pop-jazz proposal of ‘tulips’ of Oliver, lately relaunched with Pablo López although its impact-like that of all these singles-has been very limited. Of course, in none of these profiles the new Aitana seems to be. They will say that they are not interested in commercial success. They will lie.
The most current proposals are those of Suzete and May. Which does not mean that they are equally convincing. Suzete’s remains the most identifying of all because of its consistent clinging to Afrobeat, one of the fashion rhythms globally, although it still does not constitute the Spanish response of Tyla or Libianca in the lists of successes, no matter how much Lola Indigo has risen to one of her singles. Even so, the exercises are grateful in this style of ‘Damalabú’, ‘Paraíso’ and ‘salt and holy water’: none is especially memorable, but Suzete is seen in its sauce.

To May, or Álvaro Mayo, the influence of the dance of the 90s feels good in ‘Beibi’, although unfortunately the issue is her and not him. The evocation of the “future sugar daddy” gives in the nail of a fun and carefree theme. ‘Everything reminds me of you’ with Edurne is a nice Synth-Pop with echoes to Dua Lipa. But to May the resemblance to Troye Sivan goes out of hand in ‘telling you’: he is not to blame for his voice to look – and much – to that of the Australian singer, but the way he decides to sing it and, above all, the sound of the song, remind a lot of ‘Got me pan’, and the similarity does not favor him precisely.
Less prolific are being the trajectories of Salma and Denna. Salma’s latest bet has been a collaboration with Tony Grox and La Esppa, ‘Embustero’, of flamenco rumba sound through Autoon and various electronic effects. At least he is perceived an attempt to do … something. ‘Sixth meaning’ of Denna, on the other hand, has less “intuition” playing exactly like the most danceable indigo lola. At least both give signs of life, because of Chris Helia we have nothing since February: then he published an EP of EP of eighties pop and R&B-Pop called ‘Red Thread’ of which the synthetic Single Pop-Rock ‘Paper planes’ highlighted. There has been no more thread than to throw. At least, for now.
