Our first issue of the year features on the cover, of course, the best national album of 2025. Honor that has fallen on “Daisy”rusowski’s first full-length.
“Daisy” It is, above all, a brilliant exercise in the crystallization of a sound philosophy that Russowsky has been perfecting since his first singles, a faithful translation into long format of an indistinguishable energy, but certainly difficult to define. The bedroom pop label falls ridiculously short of defining an artist who builds his identity on the continuous exploration and radical deconstruction of the musical genre.
But this issue of the magazine is not only made up of our lists dedicated to the various styles that we cover at Mondo Sonoro. There are also a good number of interviews that we present below:
Los Angeles has always been a city of pilgrimage for devotees of the six strings, and for Thomas Raggiis no exception. The Italian musician, a fundamental piece of the sound machinery that has turned Måneskin into a global phenomenon, begins his solo career with “Masquerade” (Sony, 25).
I never imagined that someone from Little Mix would present one of the great debuts of recent pop. “That’s Showbiz Baby!” (Sony Music, 25) is an album with a thousand genres within that questions the relationship between artists and the music industry or, at least, tries to be honest about it. Now Jade publishes the Deluxe edition.
Brief parenthesis in the future of the Editors: he tells us Tom Smith (Stroud, United Kingdom, 1981) who have spent much of last summer recording a new work, but “There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn’t There In The Light” (PIAS, 2025), his first solo album, has absolutely nothing to do with it.
The new job of Macaque is titled “Ancestral Future” (Mundo Zurdo, 25), an oxymoron to which Dani “Macaco” Carbonell gives a new meaning. In his words, his album is “a sharp, conscious and ironic album, which draws on the roots of southern music to reflect on the present.”
In March 2026, the Buzzcocks by Steve Diggle will return to our country boasting of that status that time has only confirmed, based on countless bands influenced by the British punk group that emerged in the gray streets of Manchester in the seventies.
Tristan!the youngest member of Russia-IDK, was pure eccentric and electronic experimentation, without metronome or rules. But what he brings this time is a debut album full of jams and pure sounds. This is “Tristán, Now With a Watch” (Russia-idk,25)
After several advances, Alice Wonder come back with “Soulost” (Sony Music, 25) after almost three years of silence following the publication of “Fuck everything else” in 2022.
With quite a few group and solo albums behind him, July of the Rose He immersed himself in the world of soundtracks until he became one of the great composers of our country. We asked the former leader of Bubble Man what his six favorite soundtracks are.
And that’s it for everything related to our most extensive interviews, but remember that in this issue you can also find our selection with the best comics, movies and musical books published this past 2025 in our country.
And as always, here we leave you a playlist with a selection of the 100 best songs of 2025 selected by the magazine’s editors and that will serve as a soundtrack for reading. Happy new year!
