The Crab Apples will bring their powerful pop-rock to Girando por Salas

The Crab Apples, the indie pop-rock band from Barcelona, which we have been talking about for a while now for their good third album, ‘CRAP’ -recommended for fans of Zahara or Delaporte-, or for their single ‘Open Your Mind’, a cucumber in their remix of Ley DJ, is heading up a venue tour in 2026 with Girando por Salas, which has already booked six dates.

At the rate of one concert per month (in some cases, two), The Crab Apples will play on January 30 at the Sala La2 in Seville, on February 27 at the Aguere Cultural in La Laguna, in Tenerife; on March 28 at the Octavo Arte room in Segovia, on the 29th of that same month at the Siroco in Madrid, on April 24 at the Terra in Castelló de la Plana and on May 23 at the La Room in Ferrol, in A Coruña.

The trio of Carla Gimeno (vocals), Laia Alsina (electric guitar) and Laia Martí (bass), independent and self-managed, has been on stage for more than a decade and has released three albums: ‘Right Here’ (2014), ‘A Drastic Mistake’ (2018) and the aforementioned ‘CRAP’ (2021). In them he has built a vibrant sound combining pop-rock, indie, grunge and electronica, always putting his melodies and voices in the foreground, and singing interchangeably in English, Spanish and Catalan.

Along the way we have known authentic great songs like ‘There is light’, their greatest anthem, published in 2021, and single singles that are equally powerful in both a guitar style and a dance style. ‘Holy’ has served great guitars very recently, and before ‘Seguiré bailando’ related the sound of The Crab Apples to that of groups like Miss Caffeina; It was also a collaboration with Anne Lukin, who almost looked like the fourth “Crab Apple” in the promotional images.

The Crab Apples tour allows the group to continue presenting ‘Un volantazo’ on stage, their 2024 EP, which contained such cool cuts as ‘Maschin’, in a very St. Vincent style, or the aforementioned ‘ojala’. In case anyone doubts what they are capable of doing live, their list of groups they have supported is breathtaking: Warpaint, the Beach Boys and Nada Surf all fit in there.
