Sunn O))) share the crawling fifteen minutes of “Butch’s Guns”

Sunn O))) has released “Butch’s Guns”, a new preview of his upcoming self-titled album, which will be released on April 3. It’s about fifteen minutes of electricity, feedback and heavy, crawling sounds.

For almost thirty years, Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson have explored the boundaries of heavy music, working to create an instantly recognizable style. Now, the group returns with a new project after the acclaimed “Pyroclasts” (19). This will be their tenth album, the first with the Sub Pop record label, and demonstrates the duo’s willingness to evolve towards new sounds, without abandoning their spirit. dronic on the edge of the abyss.

“Butch’s Guns” was co-produced and mixed by the band along with Brad Wood (known for his work with Tar, Sunny Day Real Estate or Liz Phair). It was recorded at Bear Creek Studios, in Woodinville, Washington, in January 2025.

The album art consists of two paintings by the American artist Mark Rothko: one as the cover and one as the back cover. Click here if you want more information.
