Kelis, Skepta, Charlotte de Witte and the legendary Cabaret Voltaire are among the first artists confirmed for Sónar 2026, which will take place on June 18, 19 and 20 at Fira Barcelona, the venue located on Gran Via de L’Hospitalet.
The thirty artists announced today by Sónar also include Amelie Lens, Modeselektor, Nia Archives, Julianna Barwick & Mary Lattimore, WhoMadeWho and Ascendant Vierge, as well as DJ sets by Chris Stussy, Sammy Virji, KETTAMA, Joy Orbison, Boys Noize, Ogazón, ISA and Alba Franch. More names will be announced soon.
The 33rd edition of the festival will be the first to unify the Day and Night programs in a single venue, following the renovation works that will begin in the Montjuïc fair spaces from January 2026.
Sónar indicates that its move to a single space has allowed it to develop “an unprecedented three-day format and uninterrupted music during the afternoon and evening, offering the most comfortable experience to date.” The festival will deploy “six stages with their own identity (that) will offer continued exceptional programming, which will preserve the spirit of the historic daytime events – with extended hours – and will expand the nighttime content.”
The iconic SonarClub, SonarLab and SonarCar stages will maintain their usual locations, while the venue will incorporate the SonarVillage by Estrella Damm and new spaces, such as a “larger, open-air” SonarPark and a “renovated and expanded” SonarHall that “will allow for more live shows and DJ sets on each of the three days.”
In total, “three outdoor stages and three indoor stages will allow a fluid transition between day and night, maintaining the essence of the festival in a single space.”
François Jozic, director of Sónar, has commented on the new Sónar format: “Barcelona has to once again be the capital of electronic culture and Sónar 2026 will mark a decisive step towards the future. We have designed a festival that not only celebrates music, but integrates technology, art and creativity in a unique experience, offering an ideal space for discovery. Barcelona will once again be the world epicenter of cultural innovation.”
“We are going to unify – not merge – the daytime and nighttime programs in the same space. This will allow each of the audiences to live the full experience and enjoy many more hours of music without interruptions, with more offerings and more stages operating simultaneously in each time slot.”
